From the Farmer
Just in case you didn’t know, the farm stand and the kitchen will be open until November 22nd. Anyone who has a Winter Share knows we have a lot to offer during the month of November. We’ll also be at the Natick Farmer’s Market every Saturday.
Everyone has been so kind and complimentary about the new farm stand. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It took a couple years of searching to find a look for our new farm stand that fits our farm. We too are so pleased with how it came out. We have a lot of tweaking to do but, that’s all part of the fun.
It won’t be long before the kitchen downstairs is open and that’s when the real fun will begin. We’re excited about having that extra space so we can hire additional staff to keep the farm stand stocked with all your favorites. Instead of making soup in our 4 gallon stock pot, we’ll have a 30 gallon tilt skillet and we hopefully never run out of your favorite soup or chili again.
Personally, I’m interested in inspiring young people to get involved in the kitchen. Being comfortable with the basics in the kitchen is very empowering. Many of us had the opportunity to learn basic baking and cooking techniques as early as middle school. It not only taught us how to cook, it made us aware of what is in our food.
Unfortunately, many of those life skills have been taken out of schools and isn’t always taught at home either. I would like to bring that opportunity back to young people. It’s so basic but so life changing at the same time. Stay-tuned for the 2018 class schedule coming to a farm near you!
Winter share sign-up is coming to a close on October 20th. If you have any questions call me on my cell 508-667-7638 or catch me at the farm.
Two more pick-ups to go for the Main Share! It truly has been an awesome year in so many ways!
Thanks for all you support and kind words. It means so much to us and our crew.
