2019- Kids’ Classes

All classes have a 5-person minimum for the class to be held.
CSA members receive $5 off per class except for the Pesto Making class which is free to CSA members.

Freezer Jam

Summer is here and so are strawberries!! Through this class your child will learn the basics of making jam, the differences in pectin and how to make delicious jam at home in the freezer without using a hot water bath canner.

Jam time

Does your teen want to learn how to use a hot water bath canner? If so, this class is for them! We will go over the proper equipment, tools, safety and technique in using a hot water bath canner. Then they will have a chance to use what they’ve learned to make and can some fresh jam!

Summer Snacking

The summer vegetables and fruits are rolling in! Through this class we will explore different ways of tying in fruits and vegetables to some super delicious easy snack foods.

Cooking with Summer Vegetables

The summers bounty is upon us and we’re going to show your teens how to use it to make some fabulously fresh food. After taking a quick tour of the fields, to see where all of these vegetables come from, we will go over a couple different dry heat cooking techniques including grilling and roasting. Your teen will get a chance to make some easy summer snack food as well as a full meal using fresh produce straight from the fields.
