Candidates should have some prior experience with vegetable growing and be considering a career in agriculture. You will be an integral part fo the crew, doing greenhouse work, seeding, planting, cultivating, weeding, and crew supervision. You will be maintaining orchards and grounds and harvesting, cleaning and packaging organic vegetables and fruits for our 300 member CSA, famstand and weekly farmers' markets.

Candidates should be well-organized with a good attitude and be ready to give 100% each day. We are looking for self-starters who takes direction well and are interested in new ways of doing things. Because we are open to the public 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, it is necessary that everyone on the crew be cordial and helpful to the shareholders and customers who are supporting our family farm. The position requires someone who is physically and mentally strong and is willing to work in all kinds of weather. You must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work with hand tools.. If you have any pollen or mold related allergies this is not a position for you.

You will be working an average of 35-40 hours per week on farm Monday thru Friday plus a commitment for a Thursday or Saturday farmers' market for a total commitment of 40-45 hours per week.

You will be working with a small crew of local workers and volunteers and directly for the head farmer.

Much of the field work is mechanized, giving the right person(s) an opportunity to work with a wide range of equipment including seeder, cultivators and various tillage and harvesting equipment.

For the right person this is a wonderful opportunity to expand your knowledge of farming while learning the business side of a very diversified farming operation.

Compensation

Wages-Start at $10.00/hour. Candidates who perfor wil be rewarded inthe first couple months.
